This rakhi carries Ram naam — राम — in 925 sterling silver Devanagari script, strung on a hand-twisted red cotton thread. The rakhi is a raksha sutra, a thread of protection, and Ram naam is the name devotees have turned to for exactly that, which makes the two fit together the way few rakhi designs do. The lettering is cut clean and open, with the final stroke extending into a small bow & arrow. For a brother far from home, the name in Devanagari rather than English tends to land differently. The thread ties on, so there's no sizing to sort out. Handcrafted by artisans in Jaipur, India, and shipped from our studio in Texas.

Rakhi is the promise a sister ties on her brother's wrist every Shravana Purnima. A sterling silver one is something he can keep in his pooja space, as pendant or charm for bracelet or keyring long after the day.
