In the old kingdom of Mysore, the Gandaberunda (a mighty two-headed eagle from Hindu legend) was the royal emblem of the Wodeyar kings. It’s believed to be a form of Lord Vishnu, so powerful it could carry elephants in its talons, and it remains the emblem of Karnataka to this day.

This pendant brings that legend into silver. The Gandaberunda spreads its wings wide, each feather set with deep rose-pink kemp stones, the jewel-toned stones of South Indian temple jewellery. Sheltered at its heart, Goddess Lakshmi sits on a blooming lotus in the Gaja Lakshmi form, flanked by elephants, bringing grace, prosperity and abundance. Every detail is sculpted in 925 sterling silver, from the goddess’s crown to the lotus petals and the bird’s feathered tail.

The pendant hangs from multiple strands of soft pink rose quartz beads, scattered with tiny silver bells. The blush tones of the quartz echo the kemp stones, softening the grandeur of the pendant into something feminine and wearable.

Care: Store flat in a box or pouch so the strands don’t tangle. Wipe the silver gently with a soft dry cloth, and use a soft brush on the carved detail. Don’t use silver dip, because it can damage the kemp stones and dull the rose quartz. Keep away from perfume, lotion and water.
