Woven by hand in the hills of northern Thailand.
This wide cuff is made by Karen Hill Tribe silversmiths, who are known for working in silver purer than sterling. Flat ribbons of silver are hand-woven into a basketweave pattern, then framed by smooth polished rims. The weave catches light at every angle, so it looks different every time you move.
Purer than sterling. Karen silver is typically 95% pure, compared to 92.5% for sterling. The result has a soft, luminous white tone that you won't find in mass-produced jewelry.
A craft with a story. Karen silversmithing grew out of a Thai royal initiative in 1969 and has been passed from one generation to the next ever since. Each piece supports the artisans and communities keeping the tradition alive.
Made to live in. The open-cuff design slips on easily and sits comfortably on the wrist. It looks just as good with a linen shirt as with an evening dress. Wear it on its own; it doesn't need anything else.
The details
- Handcrafted by Karen Hill Tribe artisans, northern Thailand
- 95% pure silver
- Hand-woven basketweave design with polished rims
- Open cuff with a slight give for fit
- Width: 2 cm Weight: 40 gram
Fit
Gently ease the cuff on from the side of your wrist, not over your hand. You can press it slightly to adjust the fit, but avoid bending it repeatedly, because high-purity silver is softer than sterling.
A note on handmade
Each cuff is woven by hand, so slight variations in the weave are natural. They're the artisan's signature, not flaws.
Care
High-purity silver tarnishes more slowly than sterling. Polish it with a soft silver cloth to bring back the shine, and store it in a dry pouch.
Ships from the USA. A gift-ready pouch is included
