A little piece of India, made by hand in Udaipur and carried across the world to you.
Some gifts are bought. Others are chosen with heart. The Shyama Lotus studs are the second kind: a small, thoughtful piece of Indian heritage for someone who loves art, wherever in the world they are.
Udaipur, Rajasthan’s City of Lakes, is one of the last places where artisans still practise meenakari on silver: engraving the metal by hand, filling it with enamel, and firing it one colour at a time. In these studs, an eight-petal lotus is set in glossy black enamel, with each petal outlined in bright silver. At the centre, a tiny flower glows inside a ring of golden-yellow enamel, framed by a scalloped silver border.
Shyama means “the dark one.” It’s a loving name for deep, beautiful things in Indian poetry, and these studs have the same quiet depth.
Their real magic is how easily they fit into everyday life. Wear them with a black turtleneck, a white shirt, a camel coat or a simple solid dress, and they add just the right amount of art and story. They’re understated enough for the office and special enough to start a conversation.
They’re a perfect gift for an art lover, for a friend far from home, for someone who misses India, or for someone who has never been but would love it.

- Easy to wear with western solids, office wear and Indian outfits

Care: Enamel is fired glass, so it’s strong but can chip if dropped. Store the studs in a soft pouch. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Don’t use silver dip, and keep them away from perfume and water.
Note: Each pair is enamelled by hand, so small differences are the signature of real meenakari.
