A little love story in silver, inspired by the miniature paintings of Rajasthan.
In Indian art and folklore, the parrot (tota) is the messenger of love. It perches on the shoulders of princesses in Rajput miniature paintings, and it carries the arrows of Kamadeva, the god of love. In Rajasthani jewellery, the parrot has long been a charm of romance, joy and good fortune.
The Tota jhumkas bring that story to life. Each stud is a little parrot outlined in gold-toned silver and set in the traditional kundan style, with ruby-red and white stones filling its wings and body. It sits on a square of hand-hammered silver whose textured surface catches the light at every angle.
Below hangs a generous, bell-shaped jhumka in deeply oxidised 925 sterling silver. Its dome is embossed with blossoms and leafy vines, topped with cross-hatched detailing and finished with a twisted rope border. A full fringe of silver ghungroo beads sways and chimes softly with every move.
It’s a bold, heirloom-style statement, with a little weight that makes it feel like real silver jewellery. Wear them with a silk or handloom saree, a lehenga for weddings, Diwali and Navratri, or with a black dress or a crisp white shirt for an Indo-western look that gets noticed.
What makes it special:
- A kundan-style parrot motif, the Rajasthani symbol of love and good fortune
- Hand-hammered silver base for texture and sparkle
- Large oxidised jhumka with embossed floral work and a ghungroo fringe
- Solid 925 sterling silver with gold-toned accents on the parrot
- A statement piece with a reassuring, substantial weight

Wearing tip: These are statement jhumkas with some weight. For comfort, use the large-disc earring backs (included [please confirm]), or support them with a sahara (ear chain) for long events.
Care: Store in a zip pouch to slow tarnishing. Wipe with a soft dry cloth, and use a soft brush on the embossed detail. Don’t use silver dip, because it strips the oxidised finish and can loosen the kundan setting. Keep away from perfume, lotion and water.
Note: Each piece is handcrafted, so small variations in the stone setting and hammering are part of its charm.
